Funeral services for Miss Mable Rouse, 18-year-old daughter of Granville Rouse of near Kiefer, were held this afternoon at 2:30 in Lewis and Landrith Chapel. Rev. F.R. McConnell of the Nazarene Church officiated. The body will be shipped to Norfork, Arkansas for burial.
The deceased is survived by her father and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Trotter, who resided near this city. MissRrouse underwent an operation yesterday at the Sapulpa hospital and died shortly after.

Mable Rouse was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Granville T. 'Tink' Rouse. She was born near Norfork, Arkansas. Her mother, the former Maud Payne died on January 13, 1911. Her maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Trotter reared her. She died November 10, 1927, following an appendectomy in a Sapulpa, Oklahoma hospital.
Ray Stinchcomb, Catoose, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Vera Lane Reeves, Norfork, Arkansas, both of whom are Payne descendants, have a copy of a letter that Granville T. 'Tink' Rouse of Keifer, Oklahoma, sent to his family telling about the death and burial of Mable. Excerpts from the letter include the following:
"Dear folks,
With a very sad hart I will try to rite you a few lines now. Our sweet little daughter is gone to rest. She is gone from us here on this earth but we hope to meat her in a better world...Now folks bear in mind I got the best Dr. they was here. I got the ones she wanted, said to be the best nurse in the state from Claremore, OK.....We fulfilled all her wishes in every way. She is at rest by her mother. The folks there was awful good to us. Our friends here was as good as they could be....You all wanted to know who Mabel staid with most. Mrs. Trotter, but she could drive the car and come when she wanted to come. They was awful good to let her have her way."
