Herbert J. Griffith died in the Veteran's Hospital at Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Herbert Griffith well known citizen of near Old Joe, died in the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville, Monday, October 24. He became ill about a week preceding his death and was taken to the hospital on Tuesday of last week. He was 55 years of age and was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Griffith was born at Clinton, MO and the early part of his life was spent there. He moved to Baxter County 27 years ago and was a resident of the county the remainder of his life.
Surviving are his wife; one son Joe Griffith and one daughter, Velma of the home; two sisters and one brother.
Funeal services, with Rev. Luther K. Wilson in charge, were held at Galatia Wednesday. Ex-servicemen served as pallbeareres. Burial was in the Galatia Cemetery, with the Roller-Barber Funeral Service in charge of arrangemnts.
