Visitation for James E. Buckner, formerly of Norfork and Mt. Home, will be from 9AM to 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home. Mr. Buckner died Tuesday (May 2, 1989) at Veterans Administration Medical Center at Dayton, OH. He was 68.
Services will be at 2PM Saturday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Don Pfalser officiating. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery with James Reynolds, Gene Alexander, Roe Whitfield, Ed Simpson, Clarence Simpson and David Davis serving as pallbearers. Military graveside services will be conducted by the North Centeral Arkansas Veterans Coucil.
Mr. Buckner was most recently a resident of Dayton, OH. He was a truck driver. He was born March 25, 1921 at Augusta, KS, to the late Dan and Arbie Green Buckner. He was a veteran of Wold War II, serving in the US Army.
He is survived by three sons, Matthew Buckner, Mark Buckner and John Buckner, all of Dayton, OH; a step son, Mike Mashak of Dayton, OH; one brother Troy Buckner of Starks, LA; one sister, Pauline Cantwell of Norfork; two grandchildren, Christopher and Amber Rose Buckner, both of Dayton, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
