Ruth Janavery Ballard, 100, of Walnut Ridge, died July 7, 2015, at Lawrence Hall Nursing Center. Born Feb. 10, 1915, in Alton, Mo., she was the daughter of Henry and Laura Elizabeth Johnson Risenhoover.
She worked as a sales clerk at VanAtkins and Sterling, and was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollen Ballard; two sisters, Ruby Johnson and Bernice Kimbrough; and a grandson, Lance O. Ballard.
Survivors include a daughter, Vada Ruth Smith, Jonesboro; two sons, Jerry J. Ballard, Walnut Ridge, and Tony O. Ballard, Hallsville, Mo.; a brother, Harold Risenhoover, Williamston, Mich.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bryan Funeral Home with Revs. Jeanne
Williams and Gary Wiles officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Steve Graham, Josh Graham, Jerry Ballard II, Andrew Ballard, Josh Ballard, Lee Holmes and Lee David Holmes Jr.
