PITTS, W.R. - W.R. Pitts, long a resident of Bestwater, died at his home in that place suddenly early Friday morning. About five o'clock on that morning he complained of feeling ill as he started to get up. In a few minutes he fell back on the bed and almost immediately passed away. Funeral services were held at Tuck's Chapel Sunday afternoon. Mr. Pitts was about 66 years of age and was a native son of Benton county, having been born at "Mudtown" south of Lowell in 1861. Later he moved to Bestwater which place has been his home for more than 30 years. He is survived by his widow and 8 children.

The funeral of W.R. Pitts, 66 years old, who died Thursday afternoon, was held Sunday afternoon at Tuck's chapel. Surviving him are his widow and eight children. Charley, Joe and Della, who live at home; Mrs. Hugh Hays and Mrs. Clint Pratt of Rogers; Mrs. C.A. Davis and Walter Pitts of Wichita, and Jack Pitts of Garfield. A brother, C.C. Pitts, southwest of Rogers and a sister, Mrs. W.J. Langley, at Lowell. Mr. Pitts was born in Benton county and lived his entire life in this section.

W.R. "Uncle Bob" Pitts died suddenly at his home near Bestwater about five o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Pitts had not been feeling well for a few days and it was thought by his family that he was suffering from an attack of the flu. Late Thursday afternoon he felt a lot better and yesterday morning told his sons who live at home that he felt better than he had for a long time. When he started to get out of bed he complained of feeling faint and almost immediately he fell back on the bed dead. Mr. Pitts was 66 years old. He was born in Benton county and has made his home here all of his life. Mr. Pitts is survived by his widow and eight children, Charley, Joe and Della who live at the home of their parents; Mrs. Hugh Hays and Mrs. Clint Pratt of Rogers; Mrs. C.A. Davis and Walter Pitts of Wichita and Jack Pitts of Garfield. A brother, C.C. Pitts, lives southwest of Rogers and a sister, Mrs. W.J. Langly at Lowell. Funeral services will be held from Tucks Chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Funeral arrangements are in charge of J.W. Bryant.
