MILLARD, Susan A. - (from Thornsberry} Mrs. Susan A. Millard, wife of J.L. Millard, died on the morning of Dec. 20 and was buried in Thornsberry cemetery the next day at 11 o'clock, Rev. J.W. Head conducting the funeral services. She was born in the state of New York Oct. 12, 1830; married in Sept. 1851; joined the church of the United Brethren while in Michigan in 1854 but for the past few years, since coming to this state, was a member of the M.E. Church, South. She leaves two children and a husband in sorrow. She was a good woman, possessing many strong and beautiful traits of character. She was much loved by many and respected and trusted by all. The gathering of the neighbors and friends at the church for the funeral services was a tender and respectful token of the esteem in which she was held. The whole community feels the loss of this good mother. She had been afflicted about 30 years and her departure was release from suffering. Peace to her ashes!
