Carl Doescher died Tuesday noon at the home of his father-in-law, Chas. E. Smith, who lives three miles west of town. Mr. Doescher returned to Rogers about a month ago from California where he had lived for a number of years. He had suffered with tubercular trouble for some time and had been given to understand that there was little or no chance for recovery when he returned. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at Oakley's Chapel and were conducted by Rev. Lester. Burial was in the Chapel cemetery. The deceased is a son of A.R. Doescher, now of California, and lived in Rogers for quite a number of years, spending a greater portion of the time on the farm. He was 34 years old. He was married a number of years ago to Miss Tempie Smith who survives him. When his health began to fail here they went to California where they had since made their home. Mr. Doescher was a most excellent young man and stood high in the friendship and esteem of his friends and neighbors, both here and in his home on the Pacific Coast.

Carl O. Doescher was born in LeSeuer, Minn. March 9, 1878; he died of tuberculosis at the home of his father-in-law, C.E. Smith, three miles west of Rogers June 11th, 1912. He leaves a wife and three sweet little boys, a father and mother and other relatives and many friends. He was reared in the vicinity of Oakley's Chapel and in that neighborhood was married on the 20th of December, 1905 to Miss Tempe C. Smith. He joined the Baptist church in Rogers and to the day of his death lived an acceptable member of same. A few years ago he went out West, partly in search of health, and located in California. He came back from there only about a month ago and joined his wife and children at her father's home where they had been during the winter. He suffered no little during his last illness but he bore his suffering bravely and patiently. He met death as a Christian. He left behind him the legacy of a good life and also the testimony to his loved ones and friends that he was ready when the summons came. The writer, assisted by Revs. Nance and Penn, laid the body of this young man to rest in the beautiful cemetery at Oakley's Chapel June 12, 1912 in the presence of a large congregation of loved ones and friends. May God comfort the hearts of all the bereaved ones and especially his wife and babies and also his aged parents who were in faraway California and not permitted to attend him in his last days nor to follow his body to the grave. May God bless you all. Sincerely, C.W. Lester.
