Robert Roy Mickel, 81, 1000 W. Olive St., Rogers, died March 12 at his home. Born Oct. 27, 1895, at Lowell, he, was the son of John Robert and Nancy Owen Mickel, attended Oakley Chapel Methodist Church and was a salesman for 15 years in Rogers and Long Beach, Calif., for the Houston Peanut Co. A veteran of World War I, he served with the Army Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He was a steward of Oak Hill Grange 809, gatekeeper of Arkansas State Grange, master of Pamona Grange, a past secretary-treasurer of the State Grange Credit Union and held numerous other offices in the grange for the past 26 years. He was a member of the IOOF.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Mickel, Texarkana, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Homer (Lorrene) Briggs, Bentonville: two brothers, Oral Mickel, Leotia, Kan., and Herb Mickel, Garden City, Kan.; two sisters, Leetha Mickel and Mrs. Dormal Steinfeld, Rogers; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Oakley Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Teague officiating. Burial will be in Oakley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Callison Funeral Home of Rogers.
