Eugene Evan James, 82, of the Morning Star community died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1989, in Bates Memorial Hospital at Bentonville.
He was born June 27, 1907, at Vernon, Texas, to William John James and Rosa Alice Matting James. He moved to Bentonville with his parents from Claude, Texas, in 1919. He was a farmer and had been a resident of the Morning Star community for 50 years. He was a member of the Bentonville Church of Christ. His wife, Lydia Rakes James, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Will and Mel James, both of Bentonville; three sisters, Forrest Miller of Overland Park, Kan., and Lenore Schurle and Bobbye Joyce Mendenhall, both of Bentonville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Bentonville Church of Christ by James L. May.
Burial is in Hart Cemetery by Burns Funeral Home of Bentonville.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Bentonville Church of Christ, or to the American Heart Association, do F&M Bank, P.O. Box 250, Rogers.
