March 31, 1940 - March 5, 2008
Lela Jordan, 67, of Jonesboro, formerly of Black Rock, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Jonesboro. She was a homemaker, a former Wal-Mart employee and a former realtor. She moved to Jonesboro from Black Rock 23 years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin Pie and Madge Franks Poe Gray and a brother James D "Buddy" Poe. Survivors include her husband, George W Jordan Jr, three sons, John Lashare, Terry Haney, and Michael Haney; two daughters, Jeanette Lashare Spees and Georgina Jordan Baldwin; one sister, Retta Nicholson; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 8, at House-Gregg Funeral Home, with Wayne Bryant officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Newport. Pallbearers were Matthew Haney, Sam Nicholson, Marvin Poe, Keith Poe, Harold Franks and Ervin SMith. Honorary pallbearer were Wayne Baldwin, Eric Adams, Jimmy Don Nicholson, Jared Haney, Kevin Montigny and Eric Spees.
