Jack Odos Hardcastle, 69, Cave Springs, died June 21 in Norman, Okla. Born June 23, 1908, in Jackson County, Tenn., he was the son of Amos and Cora Grogan Hardcastle and a gospel preacher in the Church of Christ for 46 years. He served churches in California, Florida, Melbourne, Australia, and for the past five years was minister in the Cave Springs Church of Christ. He was editor of two gospel papers, Gospel Defender, published in Lubbock, Texas, and Proclaimer, published in Melbourne. He was a graduate of Abilene Christian College in Texas and did graduate work there. He was active in establishing a Christian school system in Dallas, Texas, and served as director of development and was acting president of Dallas Christian Schools, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Hardcastle of the home; one son, Pat Hardcastle of Norman, Okla.; one daughter, Mrs. Frankie Rea of Holtsville, Calif.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Cave Springs Church of Christ with his son Pat Hardcastle, officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery under the direction of Primrose Funeral Home of Norman, Okla.
