Funeral services for Robert Sherman Black Jr., 22, who died Nov 16, will be held Friday, Nov 20 at 2PM at the Guion Methodist Chruch. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery with Dillinger Funeral Home of Newport in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Black was born April 24, 1948, in Arkansas and had lived in Newport several years before moving to California. He enlisted in the Army in April 29, 1965, and spent 3 years, part of the time was spent in Vietnam. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Black is survived by his father, Robert Black, Sr.; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Hunt; two brothers, Rodger and Jay Black, both of California; one step brother, Jesse Hunt, Jr, California; two step sisters, Miss Denise Hunt and Mrs. Richard Brown, both of CA.
