Died Calico Rock, Izard County, Arkansas.
Son of James "Jim" & Addie Anderson Baker.
Married Mary Elsie Parnell on October 21, 1939, at Cardville, Missouri.

James E. Baker, 74, of Norfork died Saturday (Jan 29, 1994) at Calico Rock Medical Center.
Services will be at 10AM today at Old Galatia Church with the Rev. Dave Williamson officiating. Visitation was from 9AM to 9PM Sunday at the Roller Funeral Home, and burial will be at Galatia Cemetery.
Mr. Baker, a longtime area resident, was born in Little Rock on May 27 (sic), 1919. He worked as a boiler maker in Local 83 out of Kansas City, MO, until his retirement in 1975 and served in the US Navy.
He was a member of the Baptist faith. He married the former Mary E. Parnell on Oct 21, 1939, at Cardville, MO. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and bingo.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Diane and Kenneth Jefferson of Flippin and Linda and Ron Marsh of Fulton, KS; one brother, Hershel Baker of South Haven, MI; one sister, Ruth Baker of Monticello; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Addie Anderson Baker, a brother, two sisters, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be O.C. Simpson, Vance Pruitt, Ray Foster, Harvey Beard, Alvie Boyd and Macy Parnell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Tilley, Howard Rand, Bobby Simpson and Keith Southard.
