Body of Soldier, Victim of Accident, Arrives Here
Pvt. Duane Ball, 18 son of Mr and Mrs Winfred Ball of Gorby, died at Camp Fannin, Texas, Wednesday, as the result of an accident and the body arrived here today, in charge of a corporal escort. Plans are for the funeral to be held at the Jones cemetery, two miles south of Gorby, this (Friday) afternoon, services to be conducted by Rev. Fred W. Bryson, with the McGuire Funeral Home in charge. Particulars surrounding the death of the young soldier were not given in the message to his parents and had not been learned at noon today. Young Ball was inducted into the army about two months ago.
