Jay G. Arnold, 76, a retired office manager of Silica Products Co., Inc. of Guion, died Aug 8, at a Leachville hospital. He was born in Big Flat and taught school in Baxter and Izard Counties from 1911 to 1926. Mr. Arnold had resided in Guion since 1944.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nancy Rogers Arnold of Guion; a son Rogers Arnold of El Paso, TX; five daughters, Mrs Tasker Rodman of Leachville, Mrs. Homer Hurst of Blacksburg, VA, Mrs. Jesse Hunt of Walnut Creek, CA, Mrs. Larry Morton of St. Louis, MO and Mrs. Bob Guthrie of Tuckerman; a brother, Griffin Arnold of Violet Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Dan King of CA, Mrs. Edward Dwelle of Old Joe, Mrs. Al M. Harris and Mrs Bill Weaver, both of Guion; 18 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Aug 10 at the Guion United Methodist Church. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery at Old Joe, under the direction of the Batesville Funeral Home.
