Son of Jefferson and Rebecca Knight Arnold
Married Lucinda Catherine Griffin on July 26, 1893, at Big Flat, Arkansas.
This double monument stands at the head of the graves of James Alexander Arnold and his wife. Originally, the grave was marked by another gravestone. When this monument was placed in the cemetery, the original marker was moved to the foot of the grave.

August 19, 1927
J.A. Arnold, well known citizen of Chastain, Baxter County, formerly of this place died at his home August 6th, after an illness of several days. He was born and reared in Baxter County and was one of the county's best known citizens, being engaged at farming practically all his life. He is survived by his wife and several children. Deceased was bout 62 years of age.
