JAMES LINN, JESSIE LEE - Poinsett County, Arkansas | JESSIE LEE JAMES LINN - Arkansas Gravestone Photos

Jessie Lee JAMES LINN

Oak Grove Cemetery
Poinsett County,
Arkansas

b. 7 Mar 1894 in Rives, Obion Co., Tennessee, USA
d. 21 April 1974 in Jonesboro, Craigshead Co., Arkansas, USA

Grandma (Jessie) was named after a cousin, outlaw, Jesse James, and the Confederate General, Robert E. Lee. She would never allow anyone to say a bad word about her namesake, Jesse James. Her parents, Samuel Jackson James and Manirva Jane Laster, named her after these two Southern gentlemen because her grandfather, Elias Laster, fought in the Civil War for the Confederates and thought very highly of both Jesse James and Robert E. Lee.
