PRICE, John W. - Luther Price and family attended the funeral of his father, John W. Price, at Pea Ridge. The elder Price died Wednesday, Jan. 31, following some weeks of sickness. Luther and the family have the sympathy of all in their loss. Three members of the Price family who located in this county in 1859 died the same week: John W., his brother, Dan, and their sister-in-law, Mrs. Tom Price - all at Pea Ridge.

PRICE, Martha L. HARRIS - Mrs. Mat Price, 86 years of age, died Saturday and was buried in Pea Ridge cemetery Sunday. She had lived on Pea Ridge for 50 years. She was born in Bedford County, Tenn. Her husband, an ex-Confederate soldier, died about 13 years ago. She is survived by two sons, Luther Price of Gravette, Ark. and John Price of Pea Ridge, and by one daughter, Mrs. E.E. Woods of Pea Ridge. Mrs. W.C. Deason is the daughter of Mrs. E.E. Woods and the granddaughter of the deceased. To the bereaved families and their friends the Herald extends its sympathy.

Mrs. Mattie Price, a resident of the Pea Ridge community for 80 years, died at her home two miles northwest of Pea Ridge Saturday May 24th, 1930 at the age of 86 years. She had been in good health until within a few days of her death. Funeral services conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.C. Hutton, were held from the home Sunday. Mrs. Price was born in Tennessee Jan. 29, 1844 and came to Benton County with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nichols Harris, when six years old. The family located on Pea Ridge near the place where Mrs. Price died. She had lived on one farm for 60 years. She united with the M.E. church when a girl and was a faithful member until death. On Jan. 1, 1874 she was married to John W. Price to whom were born two sons and a daughter, who with the husband survive her. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren besides a large number of other relatives.
