Born in Poinsett County, Arkansas, about 10 years of age when she died. Daughter of John J. Mardis and Sue (Harris) Mardis, the grand daughter of Dr. John P. Mardis and Delilah (Hamrick) Mardis. Great grand daughter of Selay Hamrick who died February 3, 1846 buried in Farm Hill Cemetery. All lived in the Farm Hill community of Poinsett County, Ar.
