Mrs. Alema (Tucker) Allbright departed this life surrounded by those she loved, on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the age of 89. She was born May 23, 1925, at Bradford, the daughter of Ralph Tucker and Hazel (Dodd) Tucker.

Mrs. Allbright graduated from Bradford High School in 1943. Following high school, she attended Harding College in Searcy. Miss Alema Tucker married Mr. Wiley W. Allbright, Jr. on June 17, 1948, at the Little Rock Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Newport, where they enjoyed 51 years as husband and wife. As a couple they enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends. Mrs. Allbright enjoyed growing roses in the garden that Mr. Allbright made for her at the side of their home.

Mrs. Allbright was a homemaker. The focus and greatest joy of her life was her family. As a young mother, she was always active in the P.T.A. and many other activities surrounding her husband and daughter. Mrs. Allbright genuinely loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Always deeply devoted to her family, she cared for her mother during the last years of her life, for her granddaughter, Mary Kathryn, when she was diagnosed with cancer, and for her husband, Wiley, when he became ill.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and with the E.C.W.

This lovely, kind-spoken lady will be remembered by everyone who knew her, as one who possessed the true heart of a servant.

Mrs. Allbright was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Wiley W. Allbright, Jr. on December 17, 1999, by her beloved granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Dillon on March 4, 1989, her sister, Beatrice Huffsmith, and her parents.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Ann "Debbie" Allbright Dillon and husband, Terry, of Newport, one grandson, Christopher Allbright "Chris" Dillon and wife, Jessica, of Jonesboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery with The Reverend Brooks Cato officiating. Honoring her wishes, there will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 367, Newport, Arkansas 72112, or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements by Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.
