Mrs. Ethel Shelor, aged 59, of Lone Rock died Friday at her residence south of here. Funeral services were held at 2PM Monday in the Burnt Schoolhouse at Lone Rock with Rev Dale Parnell officiating. Interment was in the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery with the Memorial Funeral Home of Mt. Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shelor was born in Mingo County, WV, on November 28, 1902, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whorley. She had been a resident of Baxter County for the past 40 years and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs Shelor is survived by her husband, John William Shelor of Lone Rock; six son, Gene, Carl, and Jimmy Shelor of Kansas City, MO, Billy Shelor of Indianapolis, IN, Larry Shelor of Fort Gordon, GA and Steve Shelor of Kansas City; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lewis of Lawson, MO, Mrs. Doris Hurst of Independence, MO and Mrs. Corrine Hurst of West Line, MO; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Karl Whorley of Los Angeles, CA and James Whorley of Cleveland, OH, four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Bragg of West Logan, WV, Mrs. Lulu Sanson of Cleveland and Mrs. Thelma Tizen of Whorneliff, WV and Mrs. Louise Hugh of Bakersfield, WV.
