Obituary
Ruby Smith Samuels, 81, of Norfork, died at her home April 9. A native and lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Samuels was born July 23, 1906, in Baxter County to Arie (Merrel) and Lee Smith. She married Albert Beavers who preceded her in death in 1982. She later married Joe Samuels who survives.
Alos surviving are two sons, Scottye A. Beavers of Memphis, TN, and Albert Carlisle Beavers of Norfork, two daughters, Fern T. Curtis of Memphis and Jean Caroly Marcel of Mandeville, LA, a brother Eugene 'Brownie' Smith of Calico Rick, 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. One son Joe Thomas Beavers died in 1976, and one brother and one sister also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Samuels was a Baptist.
The funeral was April 11, at Roller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Betty Payne Shearson officiating. Burial was at Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery. Pallbearers were Boyce Henderson, Bob Shomoker, Mark Stewart, Randy Marcel, Maurice Payne and Frank Ray. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Reynolds and Earl Marcel.
