Funeral services for Orvan Chapman, 51, who died Sunday night at his home in the Arkana community, were held yesterday at 2PM at the Burnt Schoolhouse with the Rev Robert B. Howerton officiating.
Mr. Chapman, a veteran of World War II and a lifetime resident of Baxter County, was born at Lone Rock on August 4, 1906. He was the son of Lucien Chapman, a native of KY, and the late Mrs. Abbie Horn Chapman.
Survivors include a brother, Roscoe Chapman of Pittsburgh, PA and four sister, Miss Arvie Chapman of Mt. Home, Mrs. Mary Hamby of Big Flat, Mrs. Coy Griffith of Newport and Mrs. May Galloway of California.
Interment was in the Burnt Schoolhouse Cemetery. Roller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
