Died Lone Rock, Baxter County, Arkansas, November 21, 1936.
Son of Lucian B. & Abbie G. Horn Chapman.
The following paragraph was included in the Advance Community column of the December 4, 1936, issue of the Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, Arkansas:
On November 21st the greatest tragedy occured that has ever been known in this community. Clyde Chapman, 20 year old orphan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lucin Chapman fell in the Lone Rock spring and drowned before rescurers found him. He had started after some girls to attend a party given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. Branscum. It is supposed while passing this spring he bent down to get a drink and lost his balance. His body was found about an hour after by his brother and cousin. Everyone labored hard for an hour to try to bring him to but to no avail. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Franklin Richardson at the Burnt school house Sunday at 4 o'clock. A large crowd attended the services. He leaves to mourn his passing three brothers and four sisters besides the other relatives and many friends who will miss him.
