BENTONVILLE — Leona Celesta Short, 89, of Bentonville died Sept. 29, 1995, at her home. She was born June 21, 1906, at Hiwasse to John Wilton and Parlee Nichols McMillan. She was a homemaker, a nurse and a member of Miller Community Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul (Jim) Short, on Aug. 17, 1962.
Survivors include four daughters, Ramona Crabtree and Barbara Cowgur, both of Bentonville, Jimmy Bolin of Oolagah, Okla., and Bonnie Hammerud of Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Raymond McMillan of Carthage, Mo., and Ronald McMillan of Mena; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Miller Community Church with Pastor Rex Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Miller Community Church.
