LINDSEY, F.G., Sr. - Died at the home of his son-in-law, W.W. Thomasson in this city, last Thursday morning, January 5th, 1899, F.G. Lindsey, Sr. aged 83 years and 8 days. Deceased was born in Christian county, Kentucky in 1815 where he spent his young manhood. At an early day he moved to this county and settled near Sulphur Springs where he reared a large family. He lived there continuously until a short time ago when he came to Bentonville to spend his last days with his daughter, Mrs. W.W. Thomasson, and son F.G. Lindsey, Jr.. At the age of 30 years he professed religion and joined the Missionary Baptist church in which he lived a faithful and consistent member until the end. In 1855 he joined the Masonic order and was an honored member until the day of his death. The remains will be taken to Sulphur Springs tomorrow and interred in the family graveyard near that place. What is the use to eulogize a man like Mr. Lindsey. The good deeds of his life stand out like an open book and are familiar to all who knew him and will live in their memory for many years to come. He was simply a good man who lived out his allotted time on earth and has gone to that rest promised the good and faithful.
