LINDSEY, Elizabeth FEASTER - Mrs. Elizabeth Lindsey, the subject of this imperfect sketch, was the honored bearer of the dear name, the grandest title that can be bestowed upon humanity - wife and mother. Elizabeth Feaster was born March 25th, 1830 in Tennessee. Her parents moved to Missouri in 1837, in which State she was married to Felix Grundy Lindsey in 1848; from there they came to Arkansas in 1864. They located near Sulphur Springs where they have resided since. She was the mother of ten children, all of whom are living but one. Many were the trials that were encountered in rearing this family amid the hardships of a new country but her precept and example prevailed and she lived to see her children all grown to be honorable women and men, one of whom is a prominent lawyer in Bentonville. Also she raised two {step} children - a daughter who lives in St. Louis, Mrs. Maggie Ross; the other Dr. F.J. Lindsey of Apple Glen, Benton Co., Ark. On Jan. 2nd, Sunday, she passed to be with Jesus and to spend her New Year in her Father's house of many mansions. She was interred in the Butler Creek Cemetery Monday, Jan. 3rd, 1898, all her children being present excepting two daughters, a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren being present also. Rev. Downing conducted the services. She had long been a member of the Baptist church in which faith she died. The sympathy of a great number of friends is tendered the bereaved and aged husband and father. A Granddaughter.
