Elige L. Forgey, Native of County Dies at Cassville

Elige L. Forgey, 71, Wheaton, Mo., farmer and a native of Benton county, died in a Cassville Mo. hospital at 4:05 p.m., Friday. His home was about a mile and a half south of Wheaton.

Mr. Forgey, who was born in Benton county, was the son of the late James and Nancy Roller Forgey. He moved to Missouri in his youth and has made his home in that state since. He was married to Winnie Bowman at Seligman, Mo., on March 13, 1921.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Forgey of Seligman, and Morris Forgey, U.S. Navy, San, Diego, Calif.; two sister, Mrs. Alice Burns, Aurora, Mo., and Mrs. Lou Gallmore, Seneca, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements, which are under the direction of the Burns Funeral Home, have not been completed.

Mrs. Winnie Forgey, 81, Exeter route 1, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday at South Barry County Hospital, Cassville, after an illness of six months.

Mrs. Forgey was born June 1, 1892, at Seligman. She married E. L. (Lige) Forgey march 13, 1920. He died Feb. 11, 1955.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Forgey, Exeter and Morris Forgey, Wheaton; three sisters, Hattie Scroggins and Zelma Bogess, both of Seligman, and Nellie Cope of the State of Colorado; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. The Rev. Richard Buck will officiate. Burial will be in Roller Cemetery, Gateway, Arkansas.
