BENTONVILLE — Marjorie Elizabeth Fields, 81, of Bentonville died March 29, 2003, at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Southwest City, Mo., to C.R. "Joe" and Cora Elizabeth Leeper Hatcher. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1939 She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Bentonville First Christian Church for more than 50 years. She was a member of the CWC Guild. She was a charter member of the Lady's Auxiliary of VFW Post 6344 in Bentonville and was a co-owner of three dry-cleaning businesses in Bentonville. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, water sports and reading.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Fields Pyle and Sandra Ann Fields.
Survivors include her husband, W.R. "Bill" Fields of the home, to whom she was married for 63 years; two daughters, Sue Fields Crabtree and her husband, Jimmie, of Bentonville, and Sharron Fields Wooldridge, and her husband, Sam, of Bentonville; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will he at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church of Bentonville with the Rev. Don Morrow and Don White officiating.
Burial will be in the Bentonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Pyle, Coby Wooldridge, Michael Stubbs, David Burleson, Lee Mahan, Patrick Greer and Maj. Ken Pippin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Wyatt, Dean Hatcher, Joe Clement, Joe Crabtree, Brian Fields, Mike Fields, Jack Fields, Jim Plumlee, Dale Keller, Truman Boling, Larry Presley and Daryle Stroud.
Memorials may be made in honor of Marjorie Elizabeth Fields to the First Christian Church of Bentonville Playground Fund, 807 S.E. 14th St., Bentonville, 72712.
Arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
