FERRELL, Martha TUCK Rumley - {from Walnut Hill} Tuesday of last week marked the last milestone of one of our good old pioneer friends, Mrs. Martha Ferrell {nee Tuck), born Dec. 14, 1848. When a young girl she was married to Bob Rumley and to this union was born 3 children, Jane Jackson, a daughter who has been dead some 30 years, and 2 sons, Bill and John Rumley of Bentonville, who were present at the funeral. She was left a widow while the children were small and married W.T. Ferrell on March 4, 1875. To this union was born 7 children: Martha E. Ferrell passed away Sept. 21, 1880; Mrs. Rosa German of Las Vegas, Nev. was unable to be at her mother's bedside; Mrs. Hattie Snoderly of Garfield; Mrs. Dovie Egan of Fall River, Kan.; Larkin Ferrell of Rogers; Albert Ferrell of Okmulgee, Okla. and Robert, who has cared for his mother for the past 10 years, were all present at the funeral. Mrs. Ferrell outlived her husband 10 years and had reached the ripe old age of 74 years, 6 months and 5 days. She also leaves to mourn her loss 2 sisters, Susan Reddick of Rogers and Sarah Walker of Salem, Ore. and 2 brothers, Joe Tuck of Seligman and Son Tuck of Tulsa. She leaves 8 children, 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of friends who join the relatives in their great sorrow. Mrs. Ferrell was converted while a young girl and joined the Baptist church of which she was a faithful member. She was stricken Sunday morning and passed away Tuesday evening. Bro. B.R. Williams conducted the funeral service, A.D. Callison of Rogers caring for the body.
