A memorial service for Robert Asa Haight. 80, of Mt. Home will be 2PM Sunday at Fairview United Methodist Church with Jimmie Snow officiating. Mr. Haight died Wednesday, Feb 4, 2004, at his home. He was 80.
He was born Feb 18, 1923, at Barker, NY, to Asa and Mariam Stoughton Haight. He married Dawn Kaylan Dec 19, 1967, at Berryville. He worked for US Posta Service for many years. Mr. Haight was a World War II US Army veteran. He and his wife, Dawn, lived in the Mt. Home area for 37 years, moving from New York. He enjoyed farming and was a member of Disabled American Veteran and Fairview United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn of the home; son Thomas Haight of Mt. Home; daughter, Jessie (Chris)Grothe of Mt. Home; four grandchildren, Justin and Caitlin Haight and C.J. and Madison Grothe, all of Mt. Home; and two brothers, Alan and Gordon Haight. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and a daughter, Jennifer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, Arkansas Children's Hospital or Fairview United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by Baxter County Funeral Home and Cremation Society.
