Ida Knight Arthur of Chihowee, MO, was born March 14, 1921, in Baxter County, the daughter of John 'Van' and Martha 'Daisy' Smith Knight. She married Barrett E. Arthur March 29, 194, at Buford. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Clothes Post in Clinton, MO. In her early years, she was very active in 4-H. Later in life, she made crafts, taught ceramics and always had several exhibits in the Chilowee Fair. She loved her flower gardens and as her family will attest, was an excellent cook. She was there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed one. Mrs. Arthur passed away Tuesday, Oct 18, 2005, at Lee's Summit Hospital at age 84.
Survivors include a son, Ron Arthur of Chilhowee; one sister, Lessie Thompson of Lee's Summit; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Her parents; husband; two brother, Arnold Ray Knight and Andy Knight; and two sisters, Hazel Duggins and Beuna Knight, preceded her in death.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
