An interestiing tidbit from a book by Dr. Paul L. Atchley and Mary Ann Morris Thomson. It is Maud Horn's Atchley family history 2nd edition 1965. It says that Elizabeth was holding her baby sister, Nona, with Casander nearby. The whole family was in the house and lightning struck. Elizabeth and Casander were killed instantly. Nona survived but carried scars on her back the rest of her life.
