SAFFELL -- Tommie Max Saffell, 75, died Thursday in his residence.

A lifetime resident of Saffell, he was a sawmill operator, logger and truck driver.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Robbie Hendrickson.

He is survived by his daughters, Gwen Edley of Batesville, Sheila Collins of Cabot and Marla Davis of Batesville; stepdaughters, Betty Doyle of Saffell and Donna Bristow of Batesville; a special friend, Dee Harville; son, James "Sam" Saffell of Saffell; stepsons, Danny Hendrickson of Strawberry and David Hendrickson of Saffell; sisters, Lorena Hubbard, Venita Doyle and Lana Johnston, all of Saffell; a brother Billie Saffell of Saffell; 12 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in House-Gregg Funeral Home at Lynn. Burial will follow in Saffell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Hershel Gilliam, Jerry Gilliam, Ricky Clem, Mitch Bell, Jackie Crews and Gene Lucy.
