MELBOURNE - Ray Duckett, 60, of Sidney died today, March 21, 2002, at his home. Born April 2, 1941, in Exeter, Mo., he was the son of Homer and Alice May Duckett. He was retired owner of Ray's Salvage Yard and a member of Finley Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Vernee Duckett; four sons, Billy Duckett of Arcadia, Fla., Jeff McAnally of Zion, Phil Duckett and Brad Duckett, both of Sidney; four daughters, Marcia Lunsford and Angie Wheat, both of Sidney, Madonna Schurtz of Arcadia and Kathy Trybus of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Gene Duckett of Buckner, Mo., and Dean Duckett of Independence, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Denton and Chris Williamson, both of Independence; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Duckett. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne with J.R. Wiles officiating and Steve Stevenson assisting. Burial will be in Finley Creek Cemetery at Bonetown near Sidney. Pallbearers will be Mike Haney, Jason Manning, Rocky Campbell, John Teague, Mark Stevenson and Bret Stevenson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Tate, Wayne Smith, Heavy Loggains, Vick Stanley and Don Wright.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
