William Henry Louwien Jr.

William Henry Louwien Jr., 73, of Ravenden, died March 28, 2009, at his home.

Born Oct. 12, 1935, in Dallas, Texas, he was retired from the military. He was the retired owner-operator of a paint and body shop.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Howard Louwien; and his parents, Dr. William H. Louwien and Evelyn Thornton.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Louwien; three daughters, Debra Shank and husband David, St. Peters, Mo., Anne Scarbrough and husband Richard, Germantown, Tenn., and Dottie Cathey, Bartlett, Tenn.; two sons, Christopher Louwien, Jonesboro, and Boyd Louwien and wife Virginia, Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Anne Wolcott, Richardson, Texas, and Tricia Barrett, Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Michael L. Louwien, Shreveport, La.; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Imboden with pastor Tommy Medley officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at Imboden under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Boyd Louwien, Chris H. Louwien, Gaylon Runsick, Mark Cathey, Christopher R. Louwien, Christopher H. Louwien, Michael Cathey and Marshall Cathey. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave K. Botos, Frank McHenry, Dennis Burke and Mike Burke.

Visitation is tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Home in Imboden.
