NORRIS, son - Last night the son of Mr. Norris, a druggist at Cherokee, committed suicide by taking a big dose of laudanum. He and some companions had been away from home all day and returned about 7 o'clock in the evening. The young man retired immediately but got up in a short time, ran out on the porch, jumped off and hastened to the drug store, procured the laudanum before his father, who was suspicious, could get there and prevent the terrible act. The family are highly respected and have the sympathy of all.
