Siloam Springs — Charles Robert Howerton, 89, of Colcord, Okla. died Friday in the Siloam Springs Hospital. Born Dec. 23, 1878 in Cherokee City he was a retired farmer and a Methodist.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Sarah Jane Howerton of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Chloe Pitts of Tulsa, Mrs. Dorien LeFores of Checotah, Okla., Mrs. Grace Benton of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Donice Jones of Kansas, Okla.; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Colcord High School Auditorium with burial in Dixon Cemetery under direction of the Pyeatte Funeral Service.

Mrs. Sarah Jane Howerton, 94, Colcord, Okla., died Dec. 1 in Checotah, Okla. Born June 7, 1883, at Colcord, she was a lifetime resident of the community and the daughter of John and Margaret Bryant.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Chloe Pitts, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Dorien LeFores, Checotah, Okla, Mrs. Grace Denton, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Donice Jones, Kansas, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Dade Murphy, Delaware, Okla., Mrs. Inola Foster and Mrs. Jessie Potter, Colcord, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Colcord, Okla. Community Center. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery under the direction of Pyeatte Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
