According to folklore, Bethlehem Cemetery originated when two Caddo Indians were buried there. Two oak seedlings were planted on each side of the gate to mark the graves of their loved ones.
Mr. M. C. McKenzie donated the land the cemetery is on to the Cemetery Association in the early 1900's. But it had already been in use for a few years. In 1980 International Paper of Gurdon, Arkansas released acreage on the north side to the cemetery and a fence was put up.
