Jurgen Braker, aged 75 years, 8 days, died at his home in the Chamberlain community last Sunday morning following a short illness of heart trouble. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Ben Medley of Cherokee City. Burial was in the Cherokee cemetery. The deceased was born in Germany June 3, 1853. He was united in marriage to Miss Antys Wrisc Feb. 15, 1881. To this union were born three boys and five girls, five of whom are still living: John Braker, Sioux City, Iowa; Martha Braker, Kansas City, Mo.; Annie, Minnie and Mary Braker of the home address. Mr. Braker united with the Lutheran church in 1853 and was a devout christian to the end.
