Jan 11, 1952 – Funeral of J. M. Dewitt Held Last Week
James Monroe DeWitt aged 74 of Old Joe died suddenly on Wednesday of last week while at the Benbrook Grocery at that place. He had gone to the store and post office only a short time before he was fatally stricken, apparently as well as usual.
Funeral services were conducted at Trimble Campground Thursday afternoon, Rev. Walter Hutson officiating. Burial was in Trimble Campground Cemetery. The Hall Funeral Service being in charge of arrangements.
Deceased was a native of Arkansas and practically all his life was spent in Izard and Baxter Counties.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs William Gordon of Portageville, Mo., and Mrs Mishel Hutson (sp) of Batesville, Ark.; three brothers, two sisters and other relatives.
