Edith Opal Luther, 80, a lifetime Arkansan, died Friday at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO.
Mrs. Luther, a Norfork resident, was born Jun 1, 1902, at Melbourne. She married Charles Hull Luther Sept 9, 1920. Mrs. Luther was a member of the Norfork First Baptist Church, where she was a musician for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev Robert Lee Finley and Betty Rector Finley and her husband.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Luther of Norfork and Charles Luther of Nashville, TN; two daughters Kathryn Bittick of Norfork and LaVerne McVey of Springfield; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
Services were Sunday at the Norfork First Baptist Church with the Rev. Forest Bynum officiating. Burial was in the Norfork Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Fern 'Lefty' Harvey, Don Harvey, Johnny Mixon, James Whitehead, Jackie Hughes and Virgil Wilbur. Acting as honorary pallbearers were Harry F. Francis, W.Q. Swearingen, Leo A. Pitchford and Dee Raymond.
Arrangements were by Roller Funeral Home.
