Orval H. Lackey, 42, of Springfield, MO, died there Sunday at St. John's Hospital. A former resident of Baxter County, Mr. Lackey had lived in Springfield for the past 12 years and was employed as a machine operator for Spring Day Corporation. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of Adams Masonic Lodge No. 164 of Norfork.
Mr. Lackey was born at Norfork, May 8, 1933, and was the son of the late James To Lackey and Betty Langston Lackey. He was married to Opal Perry at Independence, MO, August 11, 1963.
Surviving are his wife, of Springfield; a stepson, Louis J. Qualls of Salesville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sherry Davis of Springfield; four brothers, Darrell and Danny Lackey of Mt. Home, and Coleman and Donald Lackey of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Felton of Amarillo, TX and Mrs. Annis Walker of Flint, MI; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday at the Norfork Methodist Church with Rev J.D. Lawrence officiating. Interment was in the Norfork Cemetery where Masonic graveside rites were conducted. The Roller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Junior Finley, Virgil Wilbur, James Wilbur, Lefty Harvey, Jack Hughes and Alvin Reynolds. Howard wood was an honorary pallbearer.
