Thursday, July 3, 2003, Duman 'Duke' Kinney slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus. He was the loving husband of Sylvia Kinney for twenty-eight years.
'Duke' was born 75 years ago in Akron, Ohio. When he and Sylvia were married in 1975, they lived in Kemmerer, Wyoming. 'Duke' was an operator for the Natural Gas Company of El Paso, Texas. They later moved to Yucca Valley, California. In 1993, they moved to Norfork, Arkansas.
'Duke' was a musician, having a band for several years. He played the guitar and sang. He also collected Road Runners, and was an 'engineer' for small train sets. His 'up' personality made him many friends.
The funeral will be at Norfork Cemetery, Monday, July 7, at 11:00AM. Dennis Ives, an ex-pastor of the Norfork United Methodist Church will officiate at the graveside service. There will be a lunch served at the church for family and friends after the service.
