George A. Garner, a retired railroad man, died Wednesday at Chastains Nursing Home. He was 91.
Mr. Garner, a lifetime resident of Norfork , was born March 23, 1888, at Newark. He married Arkie Crafton, June 6, 1907, at Mt. Olive. He was a track foreman for Missouri Pacific Railroad and a member of the Norfork Masonic Lodge, Adams Post 164, for 57 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Verna Gibbs of Norfork, and Ethel Davison of Livingston, TX; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Services were Saturday at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Don Pfalser officiating. Burial was in Norfork Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Honorary pallbearers were James Hughes, Harry Francis, Kleo Horton, Red Simpson, Ed Simpson, Wayne Hagar, Dee Raymond and Paul Bonham.
