Bonnie was born to Elmer and Louanna Iona Tillery Dodd in Saline County.
She was a country and western musician and song writer. During her career she was associated with Hank Williams, Stuart Hamblen, Charles Mitchell, Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubbs, Jimmie Davis (later governor of Louisiana), the Carter family, Jimmie Wakely, Slim Whitman, the Wilburn Brothers and Dion. For many years she performed with Tex Ritter's Country and Western orchestra. She died in San Diego, California.
