June 27, 1923 - December 29, 1965
Cody Charles Armour, 42, of 1206 North Gray, an American Oil Co. operator, died unexpectedly Wednesday at 8 p.m. enroute to a local hospital. Death followed a short illness. A lifelong resident of Union County, Mr. Armour was born in El Dorado June 27, 1923, the son of George and Mittie Armour. He had been associated with American Oil Co. for the last 23 years. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and a member of Roy V. Kinard Post No. 10 of the American Legion. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Armour; three sons, Art Armour, Eric Armour and Richard Armour, all of El Dorado; three daughters, Miss Alicia Armour, Miss Janet Armour and Miss Janice Armour, also of El Dorado and Mrs. Sandra Mason of Magnolia; and eight sisters, Mrs. Felix B. Henry and Mrs. A. D. Hicks, both of El Dorado, Mrs. C. H. Miley of Shreveport, Mrs. W. C. Rogers of Longasport, La., Mrs. Claude Pass of Longview, Tex., Mrs. Phil Smith of Yantis, Tex., Mrs. Eunice Pulley of Gulfport, Miss. and Mrs. W. F. Crane of Hugoton, Kan. Funeral services have been announced for Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Young's, with the Rev. Glen Morgan officiating with the Rev. Tom Gray assisting. Burial will be in Champagnolle Cemetery. The family will be at the Henry home, 328 West Block (The El Dorado Times - December 30, 1965)
