Ike D. Stephens, 97, of 2609 E. Main St., died Thursday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 2, 1873, in Ouachita County, he was the son of George and Nancy Lambert Stephens. He had been a resident of El Dorado for 75 years and was a retired timber contractor. He was a member of East Main Baptist church. Survivors include a son, George Stephens, El Dorado; two daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Adams and Mrs. L. F. Griffin, both of El Dorado; and two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at East Main Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Champagnolle Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary.
