August 12, 1938 - June 9, 1969
A two-week old family argument culminated in the shotgun death of an El Dorado woman and her infant son shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, according to Captain Monroe Taylor of the Detective Division of the El Dorado Police Department. Dead are Mrs. Ruby Lee Dade, 34, and Kennth Dade, eight months, both of 1606 D Ave. Amos D. Dade, of the same address was arrested early Monday by Sgt. Floyd McAdoo and Patrolman Jerry Ferguson in connection with the death of his wife and child. The bodies of the victims were both discovered in the front room of the house, the woman lying on the floor and the baby in a bed. Dade is being held in the county jail pending arraignment on two counts of first degree murder. The charges were filed early Monday by Prosecuting Attorney Beryl Anthony. The weapon used was a 12-gauge pump shot gun loaded with size 7 1/2 shot, according to Capt. Taylor. Sgt. Charles McWilliams of the detective division is the investigating officer.
