Magnolia - J. M. Peace, 78, an instructor at Southern State College for 33 years, died Wednesday at a hospital here. He joined the Southern State staff in 1914. He had also been connected with a hardware firm for several years and was a member of the Magnolia Gideons, Rotary Club and was on the official board of the Magnolia First Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow; a son, James F. Peace, Magnolia; a daughter, Mrs. H. R. Sessions, Jr., Middleton, Tenn.; a brother, M. E. Peace, Magnolia; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church by Rev. George Meyer, Rev. Leland Clegg and Rev. A. C. Carraway. Burial was in Memorial Park by Lewis Funeral Home.
